2006 Summer Drama Programs

The Wizard’s Apprentice Puppet Workshop
Dates: July 4 & 6
Location: Horizon Stage
Ages: 6 - 9

Time: 1 – 4 pm

Put on a puppet play in just two days. Learn about various types of puppets and make some that you can take home too! Children will work together, using puppets to create a variety of characters, make props and costumes and rehearse 'The Wizard's Apprentice'. The show will be presented at 3:30 p.m. on July 6 for parents and friends to see and enjoy!

Rhyme, Sing, Act & Play
Dates: July 10-13
Location: Horizon Stage
Time: 1 – 3 pm
Ages: 5 – 8

Learn new rhymes, sing your favourite movement-based songs, play simple drama games, learn the basics of role-playing and have lots of fun!

Readin’ Ritin’ & Rockin’
Dates: July 3 - 7 & 10 - 14
Location: Horizon Stage
Time: 9:30 am - 12:30 pm (note: July 14 will be 9:30 am - 3:30 pm)

If you love to act, sing and dance in front of an audience then this is the camp for you!
In two weeks students will rehearse the light musical production Readin’ Ritin & Rockin, ending with a presentation for their family and friends in the afternoon of the Friday, July 14.

Improv for Teens & Adults
Date: Saturday, July 8
Location: Horizon Stage
Time: 10 am – 1 pm
Ages: 13 & up

This 3 hour intense workshop covers all the basics and some intermediate skills including characters, listening, offers, blocking and choices. Players will play through well-known game exercises with a stop and go format, in a group and/or one-on-one, to present the behind the scenes breakdown of successful Improv performing.
