Colcannon is a contemporary Celtic band from Adelaide whose music and lyrics overflow with Australian content and influences. With powerful instrumental arrangements and incredible vocal depths, they are constantly in demand at folk and music festivals. Canadian’s have enjoyed them at the Calgary Folk Fest, the Winnipeg Folk Fest, Musicfest and North Country Fair. Now Colcannon is bringing their fabulous sound back to Canada, with a much-anticipated stop at Horizon Stage in Spruce Grove on Thursday, November 22nd.
With eight CDs to their credit, Colcannon has toured from Germany to Japan and beyond. They continue to build their reputation around the word by writing songs, recording and touring. All five band members Kat Kraus (Vocals/Keyboards), John Munro (Guitar/Octave Mandolin/Vocals), Pete Titchener (Guitar/Vocals), Bridget McDowall (Fiddle/Vocals) and Damien Steel Scott (Bass) are well known and respected members of the Australian music scene. All are charismatic performers with John, Kat and Pete, especially, keeping their concert atmosphere’s light and amusing.
